We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

our mess

Since we found wood chip insulation in the walls, our main project has been to get rid of them. So Tim tore off the panel board, drywall and 1x8 boards to get at the wood chips. He's spent 2 long days sucking them out with the shop vac. It ended up being a pick-up truck full of bagged wood chips. I contemplated selling them on ebay as hamster shavings, but it was also full of drywall dust.
We also decided to take out the fireplace. At one time it had a chimney fire and was so hot that the walls of the insert warped, so it's done. Praise God for Isaac & Orvin who innocently stopped by and ended up getting the fireplace out. Thanks guys! Here's the pile of mess Tim pulled out, awaiting a dump run.

And the final bit of ripping. This hallway has to be torn apart and the left hand wall removed. So probably one more day of ripping and another couple of dump runs and we can start the building. Now we just need to get it done before my parents get here in 2 1/2 weeks. The room to the left is the spare room we're they will be staying.

What a mess! I'm kind of glad I didn't come help you out after all. It would almost be a safety hazard to cross the livingroom and go upstairs.
