outside
I've recently discovered that Colin loves to play outside in the (pink) car. It's one of those Flintstones style ones, where you make it move with your feet. And I find it very relaxing to push him around in it. Nadia has mastered her Dora bike. She loves to go really fast and then slam on the brakes.
Yesterday, we found a really big dragonfly and I was able to get him on my finger. Nadia was very intrigued and marveled at him. It took some coaxing, but after a while she wanted to have him on her finger too. Her biggest concern was that it would tickle too much.
And today we found a large hairy caterpillar. I thought Nadia would think he was icky. But after watching him run around the driveway at light speed, I'm serious he could move, she picked him up. He ran all over her hands and arms and so she decided to keep him captive in her hands so he couldn't run away. Then I got a container for her to keep him in, and we filled it with grass. After a while he ended up back in her little hands. Funny girl.
We have been eating raspberries for a few days, and Nadia can pick them clean in a matter of minutes. And not because we don't have very many. I found out today that Colin loves them just as much. After I gave him some and figured he had enough, he decided he would lunge out of my arms and pick his own. His little hands sprung out, grasped and recoiled back to his mouth. Too bad he had a handful of leaves.

Beautiful garden, Anna. It's really filled out from the last time I was there.
I love it when kids are intrigued by bugs and not scared of them! How cool it that pic of Nadia and the dragonfly. WOW!
