the Sawatzky Nomad

We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

Intense!

It was a rainy stormy day and we needed something to keep us busy. Fortunately, Grandpa and Grandma gave Nadia 2 tents and a tunnel for her birthday. So we literally pulled them out of the closet and started work. As you can see it's hard work to build a tent. Especially if it's your first time. We had to take a break!
The next big event was deciding where to situate the tent. Being a creative climber, Nadia's first choice was on the east side of the sofa, which has a magnificent view of the living room and the kitchen. With great access to toys and food. As you'll notice she's a get-right-in-there-and-help kind of girl.
The next job was to move in all the furniture. Surprisingly, she does have quiet a bit of furniture for a 1 year old. However, we had a discussion and agreed that since this was only a temporary home, she would only take the necessities. Like her pink princess lounger...with fuzzy trim.

Lastly, the tent needed some personal touches. Because we all know that a home just doesn't feel right unless you make it your own...with say a sticky note over the front door. So if any of you toddlers out there need something to do on a rainy day. Call Nadia and she'll come show you how to make a tent into a home.
