the Sawatzky Nomad

We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

hockey night in Birch Hills

We finally made it to one of Tim's hockey games. This year he's decided to play goal and really loves it. Too bad the little guys before him ran late. We watched almost more of them play than Tim's game. Although we got to see the Zamboni and that brought out 1001 questions from Nadia. Then when Tim came on the ice and I said, "Wave at Daddy," Nadia waved at some other guy. We did manage to see him make some saves before it was too late and we had to go.

Oh! The good old hockey game,
Is the best game you can name;
And the best game you can name,
Is the good old Hockey game!

-from The Hockey Song, by Stompin' Tom Connors

Hey, it made the short list for CBC Radio2's "Obama Playlist" (they're putting together a list of 49 songs that describe Canada for the PEOTUS Barak Obama).

Curiously, that song barely mentions goalies. Did Tim jump?
