the Sawatzky Nomad

We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

news...finally

I'm so sorry that I keep forgetting to post about Edmonton. It's been a very busy few weeks, between Langley and Saskatoon. For those who are awaiting the news...here it is. Castle Downs Baptist Church in Edmonton asked us to come for a meet and greet weekend, or pre-candidating. So we took the whole family and it was very much like candidating. Actually, I'm not sure what we would have done different to candidate. The board felt overwhelmingly that we were a great fit for the church and wanted to just vote to have us come. So they did and the vote was an excited and unanimous yes. They felt so strongly that this was God's will that they didn't need us to come back to officially candidate, so they proposed to the congregation that they vote for us to come. A few weeks later they had the congregational vote and it was another unanimous yes. There was even cheering we're told. So we are very excited about starting this next chapter of our lives.

As I type, Tim is working on his sermon for the Easter weekend when we'll be there visiting. He officially starts May 1st, so we have about a month to pack and move. About that. We are still waiting for an offer on our house. And we need wisdom about what to do. Wait longer or just find a temporary rental and pay a deposit now. We need your prayers about that.

We do praise God for selling our second car today. God never works the way we plan, but he continues to take care of our finances and we are truly grateful for that.

Stay tuned...vacation photos will appear soon.

That is so exciting! We are very happy for you. We will pray that God will take care of the house situation for you.

On a side note, I did clip the sides and back and snip the top of Kaleb's hair. I really love the clippers now. They are my new best friend for summer.

Congratulations you two! Exciting but scary at the same time. Not only a new church but a new city as well. Do you have any friends there already? We'd love to come and stay with you whenever we're in Edmonton again. Our usual home-openers-to-us are thinking about moving! Have fun with the packing. I hope you like it more than I do!
