the Sawatzky Nomad

We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

progress

If you're a regular follower of our blog, than you're probably wondering if we're still alive! Well, mostly!

Here's the short version of the past month for us:
  • On Nov. 15 we got possession of our house. And the ripping began.
  • we ripped apart numerous things in our house, such as bulkheads, paneling, pocket doors and of course a truck load of wall paper
  • we painted Nadia's room. Here are the before pictures.

  • Then we thought it would be fun to rip apart Colin's room in order to insulate and drywall. (We thought we were having heat-loss from his room.) Turns out the heat loss wasn't from the walls, but the furnace pipe. Anyway, it's drywalled now and ready for mud. Here are the ripping pictures.

And finally the mostly finished product of Nadia's room.

So we worked in our place for 2 weeks, between houses, before we moved in. That was a nightmare trying to co-ordinate kids and meals at a house that has nothing but building supplies. But we made it through and now we're moved in and mostly settled. There are still boxes of books and decor to unpack. But they can stay put for a while.

Well, there's more to tell so stay tuned for more post coming soon. And sorry for the drought.
