the Sawatzky Nomad

We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

Nadia's Birthday

Well it took a while but here are a few pictures from Nadia's first birthday. She had a great time and she loved all her presents. It took a while to convince her to open the next present after she had opened one because she was so busy playing with the first one.

Grandma decided that she had to have a cake for her birthday and so she put the cake in front of Nadia so she could get all messy. Nadia didn't really know what to do with it and so she smacked it with her hand. Then she realized that the icing was sticky and didn't feel good so she started whining and rubbing her hands together. Then Anna decided that if she tasted the icing then she would like it. So Anna put some icing on her finger and put it into Nadia's mouth. Nadia then started to choke and cough and gag. She wouldn't stop whining and crying until we took the cake away and cleaned off her hands. Then she was perfectly fine. And I thought all kids liked sweet stuff. Hopefully that will save us on dentist bills.

Nadia's two bottom teeth are coming in nicely and she is now starting to get two top teeth as well. She is walking more and more and slowly starting to build confidence in walking. 3-4 steps are no problem now but anything longer than that is doable if there is no rush, but hey, crawling is just plain faster at this point.

We have been busy moving recently and will update you more on that later.

Until next time,

Tim, Anna and Nadia

Up to Speed

Hello Everyone. Thanks for checking out our blog. For our first entry we'll bring you up to speed about where we're at and what's new. For now we are living in Martensville, SK with Tim's parents. A temporary arrangement so that Tim can finish school - his Bachelor of Religious Education, long form for Pastor. Soon, like March 1st, we will be moving into our rental place in Saskatoon, SK. We are very excited to open all of the many boxes which have been in storage for the past 6 months.

Our little girl Nadia is turning 1 year old on the 20th so we are itching to let her rip open her birthday gifts. She is very fun and this blog is mostly to post all the crazy things she does. Hopefully, you can share in some of the fun we have with her.

On the work front, Tim is looking for a pastoral position but we're waiting for God to open some doors. Until then Tim will be going back to work as an electrician - he groans about that but hopefully it will allow us to pay-off some Student Loans.

Right now I'm, Annalisa, starting up a young mom's group in our church. I'm really excited and as I make calls to invite people, others are getting excited as well. So that helps with some of the fear involved. That's what I'm pouring most of my extra energy into right now, although I do sound at the church on occasion-which I love.

Tim's leading music at the church quite a bit; in order to set direction for the musicians we have. He's having a lot of fun introducing new songs and more contemporary rhythm's.

So far the weather here has been nice, only about -15, but in the last few days it's been -30 with -45 windchill. Those of you who aren't from the prairies, that's square tire temperature.

All in all, we're quite busy right now which I prefer - call me crazy. Moving gets me excited. Good thing, because this is the 9th move in 6 1/2 years of marriage.

Hope you're all well. Let us know what's new by commenting or sending an email. Even though we're moving, our email is staying the same.

Until next posting,
Annalisa
