the Sawatzky Nomad

We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

no

Colin calls snow, no! We had a blizzard here last week and it filled all the open areas, where we walk, with snow. Tim has been shoveling it into the wheel barrel and hauling it to the front of the yard, so we can have the bobcat come and take it up the hill. If only we could do the same for the whole yard. I'm alway impatient this time of year. I just want to see my flowerbeds.
Like father, like son...smiley and easy going.
Colin goes around the house fixing things. He has a wrench here, but usually he's randomly hammering things. Especially if he sees a nail, it has to be hammered at max strength and force.
Nadia is really into colouring these past few days. She has spent many hours quietly colouring. And that in itself is amazing. This is a girl who NEEDS to verbalize EVERYTHING.

new stuff

Okay, I couldn't get a photo of Nadia and her new clock before the batteries died, but today we made cardboard clocks and Nadia decorated hers with glitter glue. I did get a photo of her sparkly fingers though!Colin's new thing is his hockey stick and ball. He screeches, he loves it so much. I hope our walls survive the swinging and enthusiasm on the other end of the stick.

The kids did some painting last day, as Nadia says, and it was the day someone was coming to see the house, so I cropped it and put it on the living room wall. First is Colin's. He has less on the page because he was too interested in dipping his brush into all the colours. I had to remind him to put the brush on the page. I'm glad to report that he didn't eat any this time.
And Nadia's masterpieces. She spent quite a long time and was trying to be quite precise. She told me she wants to be an artist when she grows up. But she couldn't imagine a Vancouver loft and kept asking if her studio would have a kitchen and bedroom and such. I said yes, but she didn't believe me.

Is this blog working?

Hi all, I've been hearing that our blog is not working. I deleted some of the blogs that were giving me some grief and hoping that fixed it, but can you do me a favour. Can you post a comment and tell me if you think it looks normal again. The post below this should be, Edmonton - day 2, Edmonton - day 1 and 4th little girl birthday party. Are the sidebars showing up? How do I fix this, it shows up fine on our computer. Ahhh!!!! I don't like when technology has glitches.
