the Sawatzky Nomad

We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

side by side

Here are some photos of our kiddos at the same age doing the same things. Everyone says they looks so similar. What do you think? (Nadia is first, Colin is below)

Mosh Pit

4 days before New Year's Eve we decided to have a New Years party. So we stocked up with imported Saskatoon Costco hors d'Ĺ“uvre and started calling people 2 days before. We ended up having 7 families all together. That doesn't sound like many people until I tell you....there were 14 adults and 21 kids, all under the age of 10! It was sheer chaos. The kids ran up and down and all around. Our house is perfect for parties and hide and seek. So we had a ton of fun and we all survived with out injury. OH, accept our house had a minor injury. At one point Jordan came up to me and said, "Excuse me, this came off." It was a ceiling tile! It was ready to come off anyway, but I thought it was humorous...me standing there with a ceiling tile in my hand saying, "thanks".
Our police officer friend had all the kids doing sit-ups and push-ups at one point! And Tim thought, "This guy is good!"

Christmas #2

Do you think Grandpa & Grandma and Auntie Lisa had fun Christmas shopping? Well we sure had a lot of gifts to open. Thanks to everyone, they were all so perfect.
Here's Nadia opening the third My Little Pony! And Grandpa and Grandma's reactions are priceless. Of course Nadia thought that was too cool. Amazingly she now has 5 and no duplicates.
Colin sporting a new touque, eating a new toy and wearing all new clothes. (We don't normally use pink blankets for Colin, I just happened to grab a pink one at Grandma's)
Colin's new train. It holds blocks that move up and down, turn and slide and the whole thing has lights and moves. He was completely mesmerized.
We caught Nadia's reaction when she realized what this gigantic gift was. Grandpa & Grandma got this one. And boy were they surprised when we opened it up and it was in no less than 1 million pieces with about twice as many screws! Grandpa spent about 1 1/2 hours assembling it, while Nadia napped.
Baking with Daddy. It was a lot of work setting up that kitchen! Thanks Grandpa! Not only does Nadia love it, so does every other girl that comes over.
And the gloves.
The weather was so warm. Perfect for playing in the snow.
Nadia is getting very good at tromping through the snow and falling into it. She especially loves to roll in it.
Enjoying the jumper. Nadia used the same jumper in the same spot at the same age. Kinda weird.
Drumming with Daddy.
When we got home from Grandpa & Grandma's, I asked Nadia if we should take the Christmas tree down soon. So she asked why? I said, because Christmas is over. So I turned around to find Tim to ask him when he wanted to take it down and then I heard ripping. Nadia was already taking ornaments off. I told her we have to ask Daddy first. Then enters Daddy. And Nadia promptly announces that we're taking the Christmas tree down because Christmas is over! Okay. I guess I'd better supervise this.

Christmas #1

Nadia choose to open this package first. She must have instinctively known it would be a really good one. Nadia loves this tea set. She wants to play tea party all the time. And it was really funny when she told Grandpa not to touch the plate on top of his cup because the tea was steeping.

Lovely flying ladybug
New books from Great Grandpa & Grandma. We're learning lots.
Colin's present from Daddy. A remote control Z car. This was a huge hit at our New Year's party. More details to come in a later post.
Colin just loves this octopus toy.

Nadia got that hair clip in all by herself.
Excited about a play-doh kitchen.
Colin, just taking it all in.
