the Sawatzky Nomad

We hope to keep all of our cross-provincial friends, and those abroad, updated with this blog. And maybe even hear from some who are long lost friends.

picture catch up

Recently, Tim went on a day-away trip to Waskesiu. These are some of the photos he captured. In the summer it is a bustling little get-away lake, but in the fall the shops are closed and no one is really around. It's very serene.

Finally, we got a good photo of our resident heron. He's getting more and more brave, coming closer to the house each week. However, 12x zoom helps too.
Here's a recent photo of Colin working out...those neck and back muscles. He's looking more and more like a little boy. This guy just doesn't know how to slow down with the growth. He's not quite 4 months old and he's nearly too long for his bucket car seat. Ahh, we have to move him to a big car seat soon. But he's too fun, still smiley and giggly. And trying so hard to roll over.
Friends gave us this tricycle. And Nadia just loves to go out on the deck and peddle. She can actually make it move by herself now. And maybe soon she'll get the hang of the steering. This will be a good basement toy when we move into our house.

A few weekends ago we went to Saskatoon to visit Tim's parents. These last 3 photos are from our walk along the river and the visitor center.

Snag fix

So a funny thing happened to me (Tim) this Sunday. A lady I had not met came up to me in church and said "so I hear you bought my house." I was a little lost for words until she said, "I signed the papers yesterday." It is just amazing how God has orchestrated this whole thing. We kept praying that whatever happened that we would know that it was God putting it together. Well this is pretty clear for us. A week ago we still thought we were going to build an RTM and we weren't sure how we were going to afford it. Tuesday of last week a friend from church was looking at Saskhouses.com and saw this house and she said that as soon as she saw it God brought us to mind and so she immediately called us. Wednesday we called and made an appointment that day, liked the house and put in an offer. Friday they accepted the offer, Saturday his wife accepted the offer. And today we went to the bank and applied for a mortgage. Wednesday the house gets inspected and by Friday it should all be done. How fast is that? We want to praise God for all of this, we give Him the credit and we are overjoyed that God has provided for us. Thank you all for praying, God loves the earnest prayers of His people and I know He loves and cares for each one of you.

And Lisa, I'm at the office and don't have our new pictures with me but we will put some on soon. Oh here's a picture of our new camera.

yipy!

Our offer to purchase the house was ACCEPTED! and before the deadline! We are jumping up and down with excitement - well at least I am (Annalisa).

PRAISE GOD and thank you everyone for petitioning to God. We just need to see the lawyer and the bank and it's a done deal.

One little snag we found out about at the last minute...the seller is separated and he hasn't told his wife yet that he's selling the house. Mmmmm... that could be important! Please pray that their discussions would be peaceful and that God's hand would be on their relationship as they work this out.

PS. Sorry there haven't been any photos lately. I want to put some on, but my new camera is such a high resolution that our dial-up can't handle the up-load. We'll go to the church and add some soon. So please.... no hate mail about the lack of photos! :)

please pray

We just put an offer on a house in Birch Hills. It's exactly what we've been wanting. It's a very large house with a beautiful back yard. But it does need some love. We would really like to own this house, but there is another couple coming to look at it on Saturday, from Saskatoon. Please pray that the owner would accept our offer. The agreement is that he will decide by Monday.

Here's a link, so you can check it out. http://www.saskhouses.com/listing/detail/?listing_id=11439

Thanks everyone.

PS. yes we've put a deposit on a lot in Birch Hills, in order to build a house. But now that is plan B because it's quite a bit cheaper to buy. Sorry if I confused anyone!

the results are in

A few days ago we finally went to the local nurse practitioner in town here, to find out Colin's weight. I am very pleased to say that I really liked her and we got along really well. And boy did they really love Colin. They stripped him down and instead of crying he smiled and giggled at them.

So the news you've all been waiting for! Colin weighs 12 lbs. 10 oz. and is 25 1/4 inches long at 3 months old.

We have 2 winners.....Anita and Sharlene! Way to go gals! You were also of the few that didn't think Colin was a heavy weight bruiser!

And the prize! A non-expenses paid trip to the metropolis of Birch Hills. Come see our property before we develop it! But really, you guys did great at guessing and I'm glad you humoured me and played along. See you at the next contest.
